About MICP

The Monmouth Independence Community Preschool, or MICP, is located in Monmouth, Oregon. Our curriculum is based on hands-on experiences which are developmentally age appropriate. The daily activities provide children a chance to grow and develop at their own pace in a safe and healthy environment. Each activity offers a variety of opportunities for different kinds of development. Children are encouraged to use their creativity in the various experiences, leading to increased independence and a positive self-image. MICP provides a balance of active and quiet times, large and small group work, structured and unstructured times.

MICP is a cooperative preschool open to children who are three or four at the beginning of the school year. The parents of the children enrolled share all responsibilities including overall management of the preschool as well as day-to-day classroom participation. Parents provide for the organization, maintenance and smooth functioning of MICP.
